Jane Cort  EAGMA

Artist's statement:

I draw much of my inspiration from the beautiful and ever changing North Norfolk coastline, although I am also interested in capturing still life and interior subjects in my favourite medium - pure watercolour. My preliminary plein air sketches help me to capture the essence of the subject that interests me and these always form the basis of my larger studio pieces. My aim is to convey an atmospheric impression using loose and painterly brushstrokes and I achieve this by overlaying watercolour washes on handmade paper.
